The roots of the business originate with the founder, Martin Prentice.
Born a farmer's son in South Australia, he gained electrical qualifications and enlisted in W.W.II. Martin settled in Gunnedah after his service in the war and began Prentice Industries. This was the first opportunity to introduce logistic innovation. One man, one tipping body truck and a custom fitted small drag line for loading. More trucks and more contracts evolved, building to one of the largest road transport fleets in Australia. The mid 50's saw the "Prentice Flying Wheel" carrying combine harvesters from Sunshine to the wheat belt, hides and sheep to Brisbane and returning with building materials. These activities gave Martin's fertile mind ample opportunity for innovation.
Martin's son Brian joined the team on a full-time basis. He had followed a similar path to Martin. The business continued under Brian's leadership until Brian retired in 2019. Brian & John Fuller from United Pacific Engineering formed an agreement to continue to service & manufacture the range of Prentice products.
Brian continues to support John to ensure the same levels of quality and service continues to be provided.
